Engagement Session at the Millennium Gate

I was excited to hear that Jemal found me via WeddingWire and we scheduled a phone consultation. After learning more about Kinte and Jemal, I was super excited to be their wedding photographer. Their royal blue, gold, and white wedding will take place at The Biltmore on June 28th, 2020 and I know it’s going to be an amazing event! Vendors include The Modern Officiant, O’How Sweet (Cake Artist), and the planner Angelica Rose from Unique Rose Events.

It was great to learn more about Jemal and Kinte during the couple’s engagement session at the Millennium Gate at Atlantic Station. Come to find out Jemal and I went to the same school – Florida A&M University. Their love for one another was apparent with the couple’s candid laughter and smiles during the session. During the session, I wanted to focus on the architecture of the Millennium Gate and make sure of the bridge that was in the same vicinity. When the sun set, the couple did an outfit change. I took advantage of some motion blur from the cars in the background and made use of flashes in the background. If you are interested in photographing here, you will need a permit. A stop from security is a guarantee 🙂

Their Story

Who proposed and how?
Kinte proposed during his birthday party. He had our family fly up for the party and proposal. He had me and two others play a guessing game that required us to take a double shot, spin around, and glance back quickly behind you and to see who could guess how many people were behind you. Of course, I was last to go, after my final spin I was face to face with Kinte on one knee asking me to marry him.
