My Introduction to Jocelyn and Dee

The first time I met Jocelyn and Dee was during an online consultation. The couple viewed our work from previous engagement sessions and weddings. They were so excited about their wedding at Pristine Chapel Lakeside and I was just as excited to discuss their vision. After the meeting, there was no hesitation of who they wanted their wedding photographer to be. The next step was scheduling their engagement session. The Wedding at Pristine Chapel Lakeside:

Pristine Chapel is a beautiful venue to get married. For the most part everything is done in house including the planner, cake, and DJ. The wedding timeline flowed without any setbacks thanks to the planner Teneshia of Pristine Chapel Lakeside. Directly after the ceremony I knew we we had about 30 minutes until sunset. I took advantage of the light by photographing some couple’s portraits by the pond. When the sun did set Jocelyn and Dee were eager to go outside and take some additional photos. These two were an amazing couple to work with and we wish them the best.

All About Jocelyn and Dee

How did the two of you meet?
Dee & I have known each other since we were little kids. Our families both went to the same church so everyone is very close knit. We didn’t form a friendship until our sophomore year in high school. I use to walk up & give him hugs every now & then to try and get his attention but I didn’t think he would give me the time of the day. At the end of the school year we happen to strike up a conversation outside that continued on to MySpace. We exchanged numbers & that summer we made it official June 11, 2008. High school sweethearts!

What did you do for your first date?
On our first date Dee picked me up & we had dinner at Chili’s. Something simple.

Who proposed and how?
Dee proposed to me on my 24th birthday this year. I thought it was just going to be a regular birthday dinner with family and friends but he totally surprised me in the end when the waiter brought my birthday dessert with the ring sitting on top of it. Absolutely one of the best days in my life.

Lastly, can you tell us a bit about your plans for your wedding?
Dee’s plan was to have something small but being the girl I am my wedding has to be big! I chose to step away from the traditional church wedding, I wanted something different. We plan to have pictures set up of both his mom who passed away when we were 5, his step mother who passed away 2 years ago & now my dad who recently passed about a month ago. We also plan to have a table set aside in remembrance of the 3 of them. I plan for the wedding to be very family oriented. My dream for this wedding is for it to be extravagant! I want to be the talk of the town once it’s over ([but in a good way 🙂 ).
