Their Engagement Session

Jessica and Malik had a fabulous engagement session at the Millennium Gate Museum! The engagement session began with a casual look on the Atlantic Station bridge and this was followed by a brief walk over to the Millennium Gate. After the engagement session, we counted the days to the wedding at The Venetian Room on October 6th, 2017.

Wedding at The Venetian Room

Guests arrived looking very classy with all black attire. Malik was happy to see his bride walk down the aisle escorted by her father Jeffrie Scott. I escorted the bridal party and couple outside for some portraits after the ceremony. I love night time photos as the look is like no other. We returned to the reception with the decor and floral crafted beautifully by Niq Williams Events. The guests danced to the music of Tamarious Hill during the reception. In addition, the bride requested some “creative shots” within the lobby area and we definitely came through on our end. The final request was captured and the couple concluded with a formal send-off with sparklers as they exited the Venetian Room.

Special Thanks

Cain’s Camera would like to thank Jessica and Malik for choosing us to photograph one of the most important days in their lives. It was our pleasure to photograph your wedding and it was our honor to serve. Also, a very special thank you goes to Crystal Pink Events for introducing us to this amazing couple.

Their Story

How did the two of you meet?
We met at Dugan’s Sports Bar in Stone Mountain, Ga. My best friend Shikanah (who is my maid of honor!) introduced us. She had previously worked with Malik at the YMCA. I turned down his offer to give him my number because he wasn’t my type! After a talk with my bestie she convinced me to give him a chance because he was genuinely a “good guy”. The same night we met we ended up talking for a little over two hours and the rest was history!

What did you do for your first date?
Our first date was actually to iHop for brunch. We were both excited to hang out with each other again LOL.

Who proposed and how?
Malik proposed on October 23, 2016 at South City Kitchen in Vinings, GA. I was under the impression that I was going to a photoshoot and dinner with my best friend. When I arrived and turned the corner of the restaurant, I saw him standing along with my closest friends and our families. He had a banner that had our tagline “Forever Mine, Forever Thine, Forever Ours. Future Mr. & Mrs. Cooper”. He gave his speech, dropped down to one knee and proposed. I was completely shocked and excited. It was the best day ever!

Lastly, can you tell us a bit about your plans for your wedding?
We want our wedding to be classy, elegant, and entertaining. We plan to get married October 6, 2017 at 7 pm. Our colors are black, gold, and ivory. We want our guests to enjoy themselves and revel in our the beautiful decor of our wedding! I want to enjoy the evening and have memories for years to come.
